Ingredients (Pie Crust)

You may use your favorite pie crust or

  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1 tbs  Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbs Chilled Shortening
  • 6 tbs Ice Water (you may use more if needed)

Work the above ingredients together with hands or rubber spatula (do not over work). Chill for at least 1 hour or overnight before rolling out.

Ingredients (Filling)

  • 1 cup Apple Cider (if you prefer firmer pie you can use applesauce or pureed / blended peeled apples)
  • 1/4 cup Real Maple Syrup
  • Juice from a whole Lemon (if your lemon is extra large you may use half)
  • 1 tbs Cornstarch
  • 2 lbs Apples peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbs Butter
  • Optional add Cinnamon to taste

Melt butter in your ManPans Skillet. Add the sliced apples and cook for about 5 – 7 minutes. Turn off the heat and stir in the remaining above ingredients and set aside. Roll out the dough and place on top of the apple mixture. Trim the excess so that it fits to the edge of the pan. Brush with egg whites and sprinkle granulated sugar on top. Score the crust to allow steam and juices escape.

Pre-Heat oven 500 degrees F. Bake on top shelf for 20-25 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes or more before serving. Spoon off excess juices and discard before serving.
